  • 16 days for PPS credits posted after 1 April 2007

as some of you now kno i was anxious to get some missing miles / sectors posted so i sent a general email to sq wondering what their rough estimate is for posting sectors etc.

heres the reply Dear Mr ***********

Thank you for submitting a Retroactive Mileage Claim for your journey on Singapore Airlines flight, SQ235, from Singapore to Brisbane on 12 June 2007. We apologise for the delay in our response to you.

We would like to inform you that effective 1 April 2007, tickets purchase on First Class and Business Class travelling on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will require 16 days for your mileage to be credited. that effective 1 April 2007, tickets purchase on First Class and Business Class travelling on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will require 16 days for your mileage to be credited. This is due to the calculation of the new PPS value. Hence, we seek your kind patience and understanding in allowing us another 8 to 9 days to process this claim accordingly.

In the meantime Mr **** we thank you once again for writing to us and for your patience in this matter.

well at least we kno how long we have to wait

token01, was yt tix purchased ex-SIN and just a simple rtn-tix? Seems bizarre that it takes 16days.
IME, if its those conditions, its almost immediately after the roundtrip has been completed.

nah mate was return leg bak home ticket purchased in brisbane

      my only question is this

say u purchase a LH ticket which is slighty cheaper than SQ - both fly SQ out of brizzie - do u get less value??

but yeh mate it was return leg ive waited at least a week now - but thats their policy for all flights now it seems

I must say I disagree with statement 16 days posting period. After April 1, I vaguely remember one or two flights were posted within 3 - 4 days. And since mid-May last month, my posting has stopped. Meaning that some of my flights would be posted at least more than 4 weeks!

Regarding 9V-JKL's experience, I have had completely different one. Bought simple roundtrip wth E-tix ex-SIN or ex-CGK or ex-BKK. Those tickets are till now not posted yet, more than 16 days of travel, more than 16 days of ticket issuance.

In my case, perhaps it is an anomaly. Or else, SQ doesn't love me!

Its a case of setting expectations low and hopefully exceeding them

I have to say, '16' is a bizarre number to pick for the promised threshold.

Yeah, I think this is the case. I still get my sectors within 48 hours.

You are not alone! I have received no PPS sectors/values since mid May. The oldest flight has been 42 days.

Do an online Retroactive Mileage Claim, they should posts within 48 hours.

However, if you are Double Dipping DO NOT claim until your miles have appeared in your other FFP!! You may get KF miles instead, and we know how much hassle it is to get them moved...

I have to disagree with your "within 48 hours" statement.
I have done your suggestion, as well as with the usual push requests done by SQ Canada. But, my account got stuck since mid-May (except the last post, which was NRT-SIN on June 2, which the gate agent mixed up my tix: supposed using my paper tix booking in one PNR, but he pulled out my RTW part E-tix, which the rests of the segments had not been credited till now). My miles had been credited nicely in my other FFPs.

I must have got lucky then.

I was waiting for five flights. The miles posted to DC but no sectors, so I did the online chase. All posted within 48 hours except one which said 'under investigation'. I asked for an explanation for this and the secors posted a few days later.

BTW, I thought you decided not to do the on line mileage claim ?.

After a batch of my flights up to May 25 not posted and had been submitted by SQ YVR, I decided to try the on-line claim, for the simple roundtrip purchased on-line. That did not work as well. This week, I have to resubmit to SQ YVR all the flights missing from my account.

well after seeing all this i gave them a call to see what the crack was - btw this new 24 /7 service is awesome well at least in aus - 3 rings and straight away picked up - anyway the lovely lady said to fax in my e ticket and they chase it up - i asked how long it approx take she was like 1 - 2 weeks - with the email already promising action in 8 days i let it go - the lady went on further to say with the new pps system and increased variables it was taking an age for the sectors / value to post

for me i understand it might never be as quick as get of the plane go to the skl and see ** miles posted - however i would appreciate a standarised time if on a sq ticket at least.... a q for u all - anyone done a same sector on two different airlines but on sq metal - any difference in value especially if the non sq ticket was cheaper

Are you referring to codeshares on SQ metal? I think only SQ/MI flight numbers are eligible for PPS accrual.

no what i mean keith is this

LH ticket vs SQ ticket to lets say for example europe

LH uses SQ flight outa brisbane to SIN - i was wondering since LH tickets are usually cheaper will the PPS value therefore from the segment BNE - SIN on LH be any smaller than BNE - SIN on SQ ticket

do u understand my silly q lol
