    ... are boring!

Earlier today, I took my first CX flight in a few months and was pleasantly surprised to be offered a lemon macaroon to end the meal. Nowhere near as good as the sugar+air puffs from Ladurée but nice nevertheless.

    How about it, SQ ?

I didn't remind them, I got out of my seat and took one from where they'd left the plate at the back of the 774's Upper Deck... yes, they left me out... I shall take this incident with me to the grave now...

I can't think of any airline chocs which are exciting so the macaroon was a pleasant surprise. So much so that I'm sat here in food paradise (Tokyo) at the moment (5am) and thinking whether I have time to pop to the Ladurée tearoom in Ginza's Mitsukoshi today. So much to eat, only 14 days left...

Sorry, got side-tracked with new and more exciting events.

Good things happen to those who wait.

I think it goes best with tea (unsweetened).

To be honest, I can't remember! By the time I got to the end of the meal, I was so stuffed with food that I didn't (unlike some people ) pig out later on in the flight by ordering the famed super cheeseburger!

Tokyo/Honshu is too hot so on the spur of the moment yesterday, I thought why not Hokkaido ? 7 hours later and thanks to a JR rail pass, I'm in Hakodate!

I came here for the first time earlier this year. I really like the place - it has a small town feel to it which you don't find in the bigger cities and, along with Nagasaki (another really nice place) and Yokohama, a mix of old world architecture. The night view of the glittering lights spread out of the city from Mount Hakodate is considered one of the best in Japan. Hakodate is also known for its morning seafood market. It's quite touristy but still, I enjoyed this (amongst a few other things ) for breakfast today:

So, was that taken with your new m4/3?

Wish I could be there... take this over pralines and macarons anyday... even foie gras burgers...

I also like the satay and look forward to it onboard, so feel your pain there.

As for chocolate I like the toblerone bars you get, but like you with the satay, on my last flight there wasn`t any.

On a side note should this thread not be in SQ Catering and Amenities as more to do with food.
