  • A380 - Row 79 recline?

We are flying on Singapore Airlines A380 to Paris. Can anyone tell me if the Upper Deck Economy Row 79 really has limited recline? Seat Guru mentions that there "may" be limited recline due to the exit row behind.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, tesk!

Seats in row 79 should recline fine. The pic below shows row 79, and the emex row 80.

Seatguru doesn't always get it right .

I recently sat in 79A on the A380.
I wasn't sure if I was influenced by checking Seatguru before my flight or not, but the recline felt a little limited.

What really bothered me was that the only window was slightly ahead and not aligned with the seat. Moreover, as you are on the upper deck, the windows follow the curvature of the aircraft which limits the downward viewing angle. Thus, I had to crane my head forward and upwards to look out. It was very uncomfortable and I vowed never to select row 79 again...

Seatguru is rubbish and so inaccurate, it's not funny.

Apparently it's all "powered" by those of us "in the know" who write to them. Well I wrote to them a couple of months back about versions of 777s on their site that no longer exist or were incorrectly labelled. I gave all the exact specifics and plane registrations and specified the times at which they left the fleet and provided links to evidence of such departures.

Did they reply? Did they follow it up? Did they update their site? No, no and no.

I have travelled on Row 79HK quite a fair bit, like SIN-LAX, LHR-SIN, etc. I LOVE those seats! Limited recline is rubbish on seatguru. The seat reclines as much as like the other rows does. The good thing about Row 79 is that I have it at recline position all the way except for take-offs and landings. You do not need put your seat upright during meal service. The curvature near the door allows you to put your pillow against the wall for your nap (as can be seen from the photo).

Thats a good point about being able to permanently recline - never thought of that!
I love the exit row behind - sat on it many times. Plenty of space to stretch, as I'm pretty tall, and when that gets boring can run up and down the stairs a few times to get the blood flowing.

My favourite is right in the back corner... 82A/C. I think the recline may be slightly limited, but it's hardly noticeable. Being the last row that area is often very empty as well. Being close to the galley isn't much of a bother for me, and is in fact a good thing, as it's easy to chat to the crew. The config at the back is also 2-2-2, meaning there's heaps of aisle space, and you can take plenty of time to organise all your luggage at boarding, without the worry of blocking others.
                Fly well,
                Travel safe,
                And have a pleasant journey.
