My flight that day was BA272, SAN-LHR, with a scheduled flight time of 10 hours and 30 minutes, but my flight that day had very favourable (if turbulent) tailwinds and got us into London a lot quicker than that.
This was an older, non-refurbished 772.
Club World was at least fitted with a newish fully-flat product.
Premium Economy was the older product (The new BA PEY is much better).
Economy was the old product in blue seats, but thankfully this was still 3-3-3 layout, and the seats were well padded and comfortable.
On this aircraft I think J and Y were fine.
Business was comparable to the newest Club World, and no-one has any right to complain about 9-abreast Y on a 777 no matter how retro the seat styling.
I think the ones who were comparatively worse off were the "Sandwich Class" pax wedged in Premium Economy, who paid extra for an older product only slightly more comfortable than Y.
