The new batch (STT onwards) are on 6-year leases I believe. With the ongoing delivery of the 787s and A359Rs, SQ probably has decided not to renew the leases on this batch. STT was delivered in March 2013 and STU (which also has not been flying for the last 2 weeks) in April, which explains why they're being stored.
SQ extended the leases on some of the earlier batch, so probably that's why 4* of them are still flying.
* Maybe just 3 as STC is also "resting".
