My flight to MNL only had 2 other pax besides myself when I flew that segment in July. The service was truly a class of its own, and markedly differentiated from J. The "F is still F" mantra really rang true. So yes from my perspective it'd be a real shame to see regional F go.
If the loads and yields from regional F are indeed that poor, then economic reality might well cause the cabin to be abolished. One exception to the rule might be aircraft utilisation purposes where aircraft for long haul destinations (a lot of them with regional config too) are rotated on to short haul routes.
