I am in SYJ J class as i type this. Seems the IFE is refurbished. The weird thing is that it still use the old remote control instead of refurbishing all of it. Not sure about Y class.Comment

I think the aircraft with the refurbished eXK system are similar - the remote controls have not been replaced in J. In Y, because the entire seat assembly is replaced, they come with the 2006 remote controls and the USB ports.Originally posted by 726 View PostComment

If that's the case, shouldn't the aircraft list be updated to reflect that SYJ's Y is of circa 2006? The last entry shows it as 'refurbished' (circa 2010 which has a very outdated IFE).Comment

Its baffling to me when I look at the number of aircraft SQ has on order. The A380s will be starting their refurbishment and the 777-300ER fleet will be completing theirs this year. So likely not leaving the fleet in the next half decade or so at least? Aside from replacing the A330s and the older 777s, which is about 40-odd aircraft, what are they going to do with the additional 50-60 aircraft on order?
Silk Air and Scoot have their own orders made. Vistara seems to be ordering on their own.
Is there some massive expansion plans in the works?Comment

For the A330s, there are some fairly new ones whch are only 2 and 3 years old only and believe that these will be continue to be used till they are at least 5/6 years old. By then the A350s and 787s would have been all deliveredComment

Thanks FSJZ as always for updates. My guess was indeed correct that SYJ had been out of action to receive the 2006 cabin products.
We think SWS might be the next plane due for retrofitting, but I'm still a bit skeptical.Comment

Also, looking at the Winter schedule, SQ800/805 from when the start of the NW18/19 schedule begin will be operated by the 772 instead of the current 3-class 77W. HND (634/635) still remains as is.Comment
