Looks like this isn't going through while the Max remain grounded:

Based on Airbus order list, they have a balance of 39 A320Neos on order. it was a strange decision initially to transfer the B737s to TR.
Do we know what caused SQ to change their mind on transferring B737 to scoot? It is not a simple case of B737 MAX grounding as it only has a short term impact.

Scoot will operate the 737-800 NGs. The transfer of aircrafts have been delayed due to the Max groundings. They are also scheduled for a cabin refit somewhere in June/July period. MGA should be the first candidate.
SQ was supposed to receive all of SLK's Max 8. But that has been put on hold too.
MBG was supposed to be delivered in late March, but was affected by the ban.

Would you know when were SQ scheduled to receive the first Max 8 for SQ, direct from Boeing and whether the grounding will allow us for the retrofit to take place in Boeing before delivery

From this report: https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/News%...&FileID=559975
Due to the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet, SilkAir will no longer transfer the Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to Scoot in FY2019/20. As a result, Scoot will be suspending services to four destinations with weak demand – Lucknow, Kalibo, Quanzhou and Male - in the coming months.

Interesting. Will they be short term leases, or a temporary takeover of the MI A320s that are supposed to meet their maker?

This is the transcript of the analyst presentation last week.
https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Trans...&FileID=560281
The 2 main points that were not in any of the slides are:
1) TR will lease in 10-12 A320s in the next 1-2 years.
2) MI/SQ may consider installing lie-flat business class seats in the 737NGs if the 737MAXs remain grounded for too long.
It almost feels as if they are trying to get out of their 737MAX orders, and keep a combo of 737NG and MAX in the rebranded MI/SQ subfleet.
TR will remain all A320 for the narrowbody fleet.
