It means the window seat has to share the overhead locker with the centre seats
Makes sense because it's only 1-2-1 seating
The omission of overhead lockers for the window seats allows the cabin to look more spacious now

Thanks for sharing !
Seems the new overhead compartment design looks nicer now.
Does row 96 look narrower in yr opinion ?
For rows 91-96, do you know how many crew are working in that zone? 1 leading + 2-3 non ranking crew ? When there were 88 economy seats, there used to be 1 leading crew + 2 non ranking crew.
And the crew seats in front of row 91 & behind row 95 still exists correct due to the emergency exit door is there ?
Are there extra curtains now at the back staircase to prevent economy class pax from walking up , or is there now a chain just like the front staircase to block off pax from walking up ?Last edited by feb01mel; 26 June 2011, 08:15 PM.

in my point of view, it looks much private and slightly more space because its a tiny section in the last row of Business Class in the upper deck, especially the window seats on both side looks much roomy.

not too sure about the crew distribution, since i was sitting the very first section of the business cabin...i'll try the last section on my return flight to SYD in couple weeks later and hope i can give a better judgement of the new section in SQ's A380 Business Class.

Yes. the crew seats still exist

didn't see a curtains in the back staircase but there was a fence for blocking PAX come across from main deck

flew in 96k yesterday
just came off SQ221 sitting in seat 96K yesterday morning. Frequent business class travellers will notice a few changes including change in look of the backrest on the seat, a new headrest (more of a cushion rather than a piece of cloth), movement of overhead bins from the sides to the middle as has already been noted) and the fact that row 96 isnt completely closed off from the rest of the cabin, it's just not attached to the rest of the rows to allow walking space in the emergency exit way. In effect, Row 96 has similar seats to the first row of other cabins on this aircraft where the foot stool is the entire length of the seat which flips down. The flip down itself has been improved to little latches on the side, rather than a button at the top (on a 773ER, the button was broken so the flap couldnt be stowed, cabin crew had to try and tape it up unsuccessfully so the passenger had to move). The middle 2 seats also looked like they had attachments to make them bassinet seats - word of warning. Toilets at the rear are same as economy class size. They tape off the stairwell with 2 bits of yellow/black striped tape at the top of the stairs (not sure about the bottom as i didnt go down).

row 96 didnt appear to be narrower...for the window seats, it does appear to be narrower but only where the TV screen is (the emergency exit doors occupy space) but the rest of the seat is the normal size. There is in fact a sizeable gap between the seat and side storage bins in row 96 which isnt really present in other rows). One way to tell quickly from the outside between new and old versions is that in row 96 has 2 windows after the door in the all business class version, versus 1 window for the 2 rows of economy.
