A little off topic...but I am curious about terminology used in Sinapore/UK versus the U.S.

Based on the pictures we would call that "a GIFT basket"...and if it were completely empty we would still call it a "basket"...

I know that in the UK (and I guess Singapore) you call that a hamper...but is it a hamper only if it has gifts in it, or would it still be called a hamper if it were empty?

(As an aside for Americans a "hamper" is a large basket or any container used to hold DIRTY CLOTHES before you have a chance to wash them...)

I wish there was a law saying that it has to be a Harrods Hamper
Le jour de Saint Eugène, en traversant la Calle Mayor...

Dumbo went tech. SATS personnel became headless chickens. Total madness.

Congratulations on your hamper, Nick C. It's always good to get recognition in one form or another.

I am always far too subtle when it comes to feedback. I give them suggestions on how such situations could be handled better in the future, rather than out and out complaining about what has happened.

I always hope that somebody at SQ will take the initiative to thank me for my feedback with a few miles credited to my account or a duty free gift voucher, but it hasn't happened to date. I can see that I am going to have to take a more direct approach next time.

By the way, to date SQ have yet to implement any of the "wonderful" suggestions I have made to them, which is also a little disappointing. Makes me wonder if anybody has even bothered to read them. A hamper would really make me feel loved
