  • SQ Plans To Resume MAD Via BCN, C/S With Spanair

    From Airliners.net

According to the Spanish press, Singapore Airlines is seriously evaluating the possibility of resuming flights to Madrid as an extension of current Barcelona service. Meanwhile discussions are in progress with Spanair partner aiming to finalize a codeshare agreement to get more feed for its BCN route.
SQ also confirmed that they will keep serving BCN with 77W thanks to positive feedback from customer.
If plan will get confirmed, it would also means the end of MXP's technical stop, replaced by SIN-BCN-MAD routing.

Personally, I would prefer a nonstop SIN-BCN than having to stop first in MXP.

Plus, this routing would also give me the option to stop in MAD before leaving España.

Who in their right mind would not prefer Nonstop Service between Singapore and Barcelona and to be honest do they really need to share the flight with Milan.
Why Not a Separate Flight for them.

was recently on the barcelona flight and was surprised that many passengers disembarked in Milan leaving the flight very light between MXP and BCN (and vice versa).

glad to hear that SIN-BCN-MAD might be a possibility since it was sad that the CDG-MAD leg got chopped several years ago
