Very good article. Looks like SQ is working on the loyalty part already - having introduced the special upgrade promotion, PPS extensions and the soon to be released KF changes. TPR is now accessible for all F pax, Suites will add F to the booking classes available.

Looks like flying on SQ might become a better experience - attracting more paying pax again.

and even budget carriers now have been courting Corporate clients - as like air asia - they have coprorate clients' travel account with the likes of DHL and even Amex and a few others - by offering thjeir corporate clients like no charge for flight changes and best fares.
SQ unfortunately decided to go very upmarket for its Premium products esp for its new Business class with its 1-2-1 seating and hence its much higher business class fares than to other airlines - and to altho the new business class is spacious - its seems too spacious esp its width to be really comfortable as the seats are too wide. For its suites, it may be ok as its limited n reduced seats. It may be the wrong move for SQ to go too upmarket with its Premium seats esp its business class which also resulted in higher fares. The current economic revovery will take at least 2 years to be back to post-sep 2008 level and for the next 2 yrs SQ will have to sell its premium seats for what the market can afford rather than what it wants to be able to sustain and maintain.
