Okay, I was doing ex-USA economy class flight search this afternoon and accidentally found this interesting fare deal. All the fares below are sweet-deal which means no KF miles. not sweet

Singapore $776

why is that?

The reason is that there are no non-stop SFO-SIN flights. Because there are necessarily two flights involved, there are many airlines competing for the business. There are few airlines offering non-stop SFO-HKG service and the airlines offering a stop are not competing on a level playing field.
