  • Which door does one board 77W ex-SIN?

    1L or 2L?

never been on the SQ 77W before, wonder which door Y pax boards. If 1L, then can take a look at the F section during boarding

    Y always boards via 2L ex-SIN.

Widebodies use both 1L and 2L for boarding in SIN.

I would think this is pretty standard stuff across most airlines and most airports with 2 aerobridges.

sometimes the jetway for door 1 is pulled back after all the F passenger is onboard. and sometimes there will be a Gate agent directing passengers and making sure someone does not wonder into F by mistake.

I sometimes do J in 77W, but would only board the craft at door 2L, because I do not want to walk through F, as I know my seat will be 14 and above. No point walking a longer distance in the aircraft.

I do this too, especially on 747 when I'm on upper deck. I can't see the point of traipsing through another cabin with people getting in the way of me and me in the way of other people, unless there is a long queue on the airbridge at 2L.

Sorry I should have explained myself.

There are plenty of airports where only 1 bridge used even when 2 exist - which one gets used may depend on a/c, how far in it pulls up and loads in the various cabins.

There are also (less) airports with 2 aerobridges for a single gate that is shared between 2 aircraft - eg 15L & R and 16L & R at AKL or gate 11(?) at MEL T2.

Speaking of aerobridges - does any other airport have those ultra cool ones that can reach over the wing and go to Door 3L (i think) other than AMS?

If your intention is to take a look at the F seats, disembark using the starboard isle. Often times, you will walk thru J and then F to exit aircraft. Or you can ask to take a look at the cabin on disembarkation.

                              sounds like good advice, thanks!
