  • Disappointed on A380 SIN - CDG

    1. Was seated in economy. Shocked at the choice of the faded seat colours which made a brand new aircraft look like it was 15 yrs old.
Seats were so so - a bit on the stiff side.

    2. Cabin crew did what was expected of them but overall service seemed uninspired - quite a contrast to the SIN-JFK route I took a while back. The enthusiasm for the JFK flight crew made up for the aging 747 aircraft.

    3. Aircraft is somewhat quieter but the novelty of taking a flight of steps between upper & lower decks wears out fast & is only thought of to assess the toilet queues on both decks.

    4. Ferrero Rocher chocolate balls was the dessert for the first main meal. sorry but this strikes me as plain lazy on SQ's part. No effort & imagination needed.

Overall Assessment: Cabin crew that lacked enthusiasm, dismal seat colors affecting the overall mood of the cabin & convenient but unimaginative desert makes me give it a 5/10.

    Anyone else care to share?

Sounds to me like 1,3 and 4 are personal preferences, and could go either way for two different people on the same flight.

Indeed. I like the colours. I love being able to run up and down stairs for exercise. I sometimes get strange looks after running up and down 20 times, but I don't care. I try to avoid eating desserts so, the less appealing they are, the happier I am.

LOL!!! This is a great way to approach the matter!!!
There's only One way to fly.... SINGAPORE AIRLINES!
If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways

            Slight OT:

My last J flight they were giving out after dinner chocloates on a small plate - ie one each. The person sat across the aisle - thanked the steward and took the plate!!!

The CS quickly came to inform the said person that they should just take one or two!

            Quite funny though!

            sorry OT

If those things cause you to give the flight 5/10, I dare not imagine what the comparison point is - other airlines' C class, perhaps?

Sure, some of these are personal preferences (eg. colour scheme) but cabin crew enthusiasm is certainly not one of them.

And I find it curious to console ourselves that because desserts are generally not healthy, the less appealing it is, the better. I fully understand this from a binging perspective of course but where I'm coming from is standards period.

Choc from a box as part of dinner? Shame! Shame! Shame! (Oh, qualifier: it's just personal preference, which we are not really encouraged to express in this forum)

That was what I did on the first flight on SQ. I thought it was all for me! Felt like a country bumpkin after than. Sometimes you can tell if the person flies first time in J Class. You sure it was not me that was sitting across the aisle?

Sorry to disappoint you, I am of a gender opposite of the FSS, LSS and CSS. I was carrying a cheap luggage with the brand "Flying Horse". I was trying not to make myself not look stupid when in J Class. But obviously, my "lack of class" oozes very loudly.

                      2nd sorry for OT!

So you didn't want to hear of others' preferences if they didn't agree with yours?

In that case, I'm always flying J for the first time - you can tell by my camera and picture taking activities

If this defines how you would enjoy your dessert at every dinner, I actually feel quite sorry for your superficial life!
