9V-SWJ is the 77W that they have just refitted with the new 2013 cabin products and is now on a fairly fixed schedule of HKG and LHR flights. I'd rate it as being one of the least likely craft in the fleet to be retired!
Is it possibly STJ that they were talking about- the A330 that has been pulled from service at the end of its lease even though it is hardly old in comparison to so many 777s?
Could also be SRJ they were thinking of, which is a non-refitted 772 confined to short flights that will soon be effectively replaced by a new A330.
I highly doubt any plane with a rego 9V-SW* is up for retirement anytime soon.
Strange though, I thought they would retire 9V-SVH first because it is on lease and the financial report said they would retire 1 777-200ER on lease expiry. Perhaps 9V-SVK is out of service for some routine maintenance?
EDIT: It turns out 9V-SVK has been withdrawn from use since 26 January 2015 and is currently with International Aviation Capital & Management.
Not official, based on my guesses. 4 A330-300s, 9V-SVH and 9V-SYK to be returned to their lessors. 9V-SRJ and 9V-SRL to be retired (remaining 2 unrefitted 777-200s), which leaves us with 2 remaining purple cabins (9V-SVF and 9V-SVO).
