explain the fuel surcharge comment a bit more please?


SQ fuel surcharge's remain ridiculously high. They could have created the same all-in fare price with a lower fuel surcharge component if they wanted too.

I see there is 0 miles accruable on this fare, becoming a frequent trend now.

In comparison to Cathay Pacific, which for example, has a fuel surcharge some $200 AUD lower on MEL/BKK via HKG compared to MEL/BKK via SIN on SQ. CX offers full mileage on their program for $1077 on this route, SQ has same price but 0 miles. It is an additional $170 AUD if you want the miles. SQ has a lot of catching up to do, considering their route on this city pair example I mention is 2000 miles less!

true that a total fare of $1498 could still be calculated with a lower fuel surcharge. Perhaps I was making a tenuous link... Maybe just in case anyone wants to match a $-purchased pair of SIN-SFO flight with Krisflyer redemption bookings at 25% discount??

Whose fuel and taxes amount to S$445? QR? The SQ price of S$1495 is ALL-INCLUSIVE. If $445 is the price of miles and pax restriction, that's not bad at all IMO
