  • So SQ did use the 744s to YVR??

Found two pics of SQ 744s in YVR back in 1998:

Honestly I never thought SQ ever used this aircraft to Vancouver. Did they really flew the 744s to YVR back then or was it only a "one time thing" used on a specially peak day? Also did YVR have First Class during those days?

They really did use the 744's to YVR, that's the plane that i took to Canada. Yes they had first class, it was a 3-class configuration.

This was back when i was still a "Junior Jetter" in the "Young Explorer's Club"

^^So, what was SIA's first class back then (before the SkySuites was launched in 2000)?

IIRC The SkySuites were launched in 1998. Before that, it was the 'Slumberettes' (180 degree flat seats similar to those on some TG B747-400 First Class now).

SQ did use the 747s to YVR - as then it only had the 747s and A310s, and the A310s obviously cant make the long flight even with a stop-over.

              SQ first used 747-300 aircraft.

Then 747-400 in late 90s' and A340-300 before the 777-200ERs.
