Singapore Air Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Japan
Yet another 777 ...
By Taku Kato
Feb. 25 (Bloomberg) -- A Singapore Airlines Boeing Co. 777
jetliner made an emergency landing at the Central Japan
International Airport near Nagoya because of engine trouble,
Kyodo News reported, citing airport officials.
No injuries or damage to the plane were reported, Kyodo said.
oh dear -havent heard of it but unlikely be a 77W for Japan route. However perhaps it should not be termed as a "emergency" landing as if its a inflight engine shutdown, then it should be more a diversion - as single-engine landing should feel the same as "normal" landing.
So for a tally, what have we now in the last month or so?
T7 incidents
SQ802 to Beijing (Cabin Pressure Loss), SQ345 from ZRH (Diversion to Delhi), SQ376 to DME (emergency landing in DME), SQ223 from CGK (return to CGK), SQ672 to NGO (one-engine failure close to approach)
Non-T7 incidents,
SQ221 'Glitch' on the ground (fuel pump problem), SQ2 (what was the cause again?)
