SKT is currently due to operate SQ424 BOM this evening (06/01).

SQ will cancelled some A380 flight for SQ856/861 to n from HKg in apr n may. On some days in apr, it will be switch to 777-300 or A350
For some days in May, SQ860 will be cancelled n SQ856 will be changed to A350 (so basically cancelled SQ856 n retimed SQ860)

actually HKG dont need the A380 as its morning flights to HKG as it is not full on most of the time epecially weekdays when I took this A380 flight to HKG. Plus the fact that the A380 require at least a almost 2 hour turnaround time in HKG is not too efficent use of aircraft and crew.

Accelerating refits?
Could we be seeing an accelerated refit pace as a result of the recent capacity adjustments?
Perhaps a bit early to tell, but: SKH arrived from FRA 6/2 and SKP arrived from SYD 8/2. Rather ambitious to have 3 concurrent refits but would be an indication of the entire fleet being here to stay if they are going ahead with SKH, one of the oldest frames in the fleet right now.

It's possible, there's a JV that needs work:

Although presumably if they do this it probably means they want to fly the wings off the A380s, which may be an issue if oil prices shoot up again and better fuel efficiency is needed.an infrastructure geek

Not sure if SQ will do a refit for the 4 oldest A380 which likely have some wing issues.Last edited by flyguy; 16 February 2020, 06:56 PM.
