  • help: remembering old flights

i know this might be a bit hard ... but i want to recollect info on the flights i've been on. is there any way to do this? my first flight was in march 86 from vie to sin ... does sia keep records on flights for passengers?

ah and can somebody help me out?

    what did sia fly to:
VIE (from 1986 on i just remember the VIE-ATH-SIN on 743 and 744, VIE-ZRH-SIN on 744, VIE-SIN on 772 and some weird VIE-BAH(?)-SIN or VIE-AUH(?)-SIN or VIE-MLE(?)-SIN and YYZ-AMS-VIE-SIN but i cannot remember what plane they used or if the stops are even correct)

and CGK, HKG, MEL, SYD, BNE, BKK from the 80's and 90's up to now?

    thanks, much appreciated

I vividly remember the SQ23 out of AMS to SIN via Vienna, Bahrein and Male with the B747-212B and the SQ38 from SIN to MAN, via Dubai and AMS with the B747-312 BigTop. (1987)

IIRC, CGK was a mix of A310s and B757s in late 80s. Early-90s saw the Big Top B743s doing SQ152/SQ153 until it was replaced by the Megatop B744s in the mid-90s. SQ also sent its Celestar A343s to CGK in the late 90s until they were phased out from the fleet. I believe CGK was also the first destination for the Jubilee 772 back in 1997.

        When I looked back the 1989 May 29 - Oct 28 timetable

        I still love flying:

        742 or 743 to Brisbane
        742 or 743 to Cario
        All 747 services (742, 743, 744) to Hong Kong
        743 to Honolulu
        742 or 743 to Male
        All 747 services (742, 743, 744) to Osaka
        742 to Perth
        All 747 services (742, 743, 744) to Tokyo
        742 or 743 to Vienna
        742 or 743 to Zurich

I used to collect all SQ timetable ever since 1982 but till 2000 I found no place to put all of my collections, then I trash them all. After 911, UA is the 1st airline stop priniting the timetable, follow by AA & DL, then I started not to trash the SQ & CX timetable from time to time but not in continuity. Worst of all, this year SQ decided not to print the hard copy of the timetable. & for this 1989 verion, I spend over US$30 bought it over on ebay...

Such a complex timetable in those days!

I love looking at route maps (map-letching, in the memorable phrase of a LON-based SQTalker). That route map has a very funny placement of some European destinations (CPH, FRA, VIE, AMS). Continental drift in action!

Bravo to your efforts to collect timetables, SQTalker.

SQ227/SQ228 is no longer shared with Adelaide. They stopped doing that around May 1996 That was renumbered to SQ229/SQ230 and downgraded to A310's then we had A340'S AND 777'S on that service since renumbered to SQ269/SQ268 and coming soon are the A330'S.

Thanks for posting the schedule, SQTalker

We should have a thread of old paper flight schedules!

                        Love 'em

I happen to have OAG Worldwide Jan 1986 edition. Like I mentioned in other thread, I'm likely to post it on my blog.
