Do any of you know where I can DL/find the music of the SQ safety video without the voice-over? I've done a search here on SQT, but my search turned up nothing....

Want to use it as my lullaby...

You can't download the music, unfortunately. I contact SQ customer service a while back and here is their response:

Dear Mr. xxx,

Thank you for your email.

The music is specially compiled for Singapore Airlines and is not for sale due to copyright issues.

The production house which produced the passenger safety video says that they have tried getting the information from the licensing house but it does not have a title nor artist name, just a code number and a industrial series.

Typically you can't buy the track like that - you have to purchase the entire library. We have also checked also with the licensing house - that they don't sell retail to consumers.

If it's any help the series is called Sonoton (which is the music producers' company name).

They are unable to dub and provide a disk as that would be a copyright infringement. Hope you understand.

I love the SQ music. I regard it very much as a signature tune for SIA. I hope they never change it. I have found myself humming it as other planes have started to taxi and before their safety announcements. If ANY SQ management ever reads this thread - PLEASE comission a saleable track we can buy.

I too love it as it is a variation of the tune which goes to the lyrics in my signature and more. "Such a way about you, My Singapore Girl. Wouldn't go away without you, My Singapore Girl!"

All these commercials have the original version of the jingle. I am also dearly looking for the commercial of the Singapore Girl in a London taxi cab, if anyone can find it, plz tell me!

I was on hold to SQ the other day (Indian call centre) and there were many Singapore Girl songs being played while I was on hold.

One that I remember was the "The sky is YOURRRSSS Alone - Singapore Girl etc.." and some others.

That was a very polite response, even if they weren't able to help you. Most other airlines probably wouldn't have bothered to answer, and almost certainly wouldn't have made all those inquiries to try to help you get the music.

Of course, it is also possible that they receive so many requests for the music that they have a stock answer ready to go out.

Oh yes - and it would be great if the music came on as the theme tune for SQ talk and just repeated. It would be terrific to read threads with the music in the background!
