I tried Jakarta T3 for the first time earlier this week. I flew up to JKT on SQ on Thursday evening, and returned to SIN yesterday.
My flight landed in the early evening. We parked at an aerobridge gate in T3 after a long taxi.
T3 is a large modern terminal, with graceful curves and a lot of glass and metal.
Once off the plane, there was quite a bit of walking compared to the previous terminal, about similar to how far you need to walk in the new Mumbai or Delhi terminals, for example.
The arrival area began with a walk down a fairly narrow corridor, but eventually we reached the main walkway which was more spacious, although overall the airside arrival area seemed a little dimly lit.
The immigration hall was massive compared to the previous one, which should help with crowds, assuming the counters are fully manned. When i arrived, the hall was quite empty, so I cleared immigration very quickly.
Large baggage claim area...
There was a cluster of transport counters just outside the hall, after customs, before the main pick-up area. That was where I booked my Golden Bird car transfer to my hotel. From the Golden Bird counter, I was escorted via a separate exit to the driveway.
This is the map of T3.
Overall quite a smooth arrival experience, although, as mentioned, there is more walking than at the previous terminal.
