It took RR a year to replace the engines of the earlier Trent 1000 on the airlines 787-8 and -9 and airlines having to ground their 787s for a long period of time, and with this first batch of its new Trent 1000 TEN on SQ 787-10 having similiar issues, it will take another few months to rectify and will mess up SQ scheduling for sometime.

SQ reactivated 9V-STU to deal with the two B787-10 grounding. After three months in storage, it is freshly painted in Star Alliance livery! A first for SQ A330!

It would be interesting to see if SIA will change the engine manufacturer for its 787-10 following this RR engine failure incidents. So far only 9 787s have been delivered out of an order for 40 787s. Would SIA change its engines from RR to GEnx-1B engines for say 20 of its other yet to be delivered 787s?
As its still a big unknown question if the RR fixes for its Trent 1000 and 1000-TEN will be fully solved its problem and not occurred again after 2 or 3 years 2 of its fixes.

so most likely this STU was suppose to go to another airline, and was painted in all white. but somehow, the new lease did not materialise. and SQ decide to renew the lease...

I know Scoot has 787s grounded, and thought if the 4 SQ planes were also among the affected 787s. Couldn't exactly make them out on mobile.an infrastructure geek

Most of the affected 787s are parked at 500+ freighter bays. SCI has had both engines removed to supply other aircrafts. Believe OFD also has both engines removed as well. Should be visible if a plane landed or took off from the other end of the runway.
