SSA will be available by 01/01/20 according to a seller/lessors website, so we shouldn’t be surprised if this is the end of the line for SSA.
About STC, my guess is that the lessor is giving a very attractive price to SIA since there probably won’t be a buyer for such an old A330.
Did SIA renew the lease for STC few years earlier and hence she is still flying with SIA. Dont think almost 11 years is too old for the used aircraft market esp the A330.
STC belongs to AWAS... which has since been sold off to a Dubai consortium.
AWAS also owned STA & STB...STK too I believe. All their aircraft found new leases pretty quickly so I don’t think it should have been an attractive pricing given to SQ. Pretty amusing to have a lone 10yr old A330 in the fleet!
Ok yes agreed. Not for this thread, but interestingly as well:
1) SR/SQ 772R still scheduled for (only) ONE SQ800/805 rotation throughout 2020...until November
2) No more WLG after March 2020 it seems
I know subject to change, but seems pretty definite that the 772 is there and they’re not selling WLG tickets.
Hmm not quite sure what do you mean? SQ247/248 SIN-MEL-WLG vv have been operated by the Long Haul A350 since 24/25 Oct 2019, and SQ is apparently even adding a 5th weekly flight to it from 1st Jan, that means the 772 no longer operate the route. Also it is surprising that they are pulling it out so soon, post March 2020? Maybe they are progressively loading their schedules for the Northern Summer and are not quite there yet - strange it seems... Or, is it some kind of schedule/system glitch..?

He was referring to the 772 on SQ800/805 to PEK. And if you check a neighbouring thread, the schedule for SIN-MEL-WLG for W20 has been loaded...
Looks like there will be a few changes coming, the most notable of which would be a thrice weekly SQ 277 SIN-ADL over the month of December as well as the SIN-CTS winter seasonal.
SQ 426 SIN-BOM will go A330 from next March. SQ 620 SIN-KIX will go A350 from January.
