SWZ is doing SQ2/1 as a 77WR. Evidence is strong enough to me. 7 months ago I was on SWZ (in January) flying SQ2 to SFO knowing the first sector had signs it would eventually turn to a 77WR. Similar situation with SWU that also did LAX recently that my father was on 3 days after me.
Now I think SWQ and SWR are definitely in for retrofitting cause we've had 3 77WN free up 4 First class seats and some Y seats as well.

Moreover, unlike last Summer, it's not a 77W/77WR/773 due to the time with light loads. They're running the A380 like usual.

Been 4 weeks, SWQ and SWR still out so retrofitting seems obvious that taking 2 77W out will be the norm. My prediction will be another 77WN out because the afternoon rotation will be going 77WR soon.
EDIT: Yup, sounds like 2 77W taken for retrofitting seems to be the norm. Then again, I still wonder why they haven't pulled SWG or SWI for retrofits, they are 10 years old already and still containing the 2006 cabins.Last edited by SQfanatic; 18 August 2017, 05:30 PM.

Let's hope the 380 retrofit is done faster.
Interesting fact: By the 6th week the 77WN gets hatched, but 7th week it's the older retrofitted 77W that gets hatched.

Side Note: The youngest, baby 77W, 9V-SNC is finally serving SQ2/1 since its 77WR debut 4 weeks ago, a few posters have indicated they got SNB which was frequently used a couple of times before SNC. SNA is flying SQ866/865 delayed with the typhoon which I heard is very shocking to hear of the delays. I will never forget Typhoon Nuri in 2008 which delayed my flight for 3.5 hours. That said, if we expect the A380 refit to be faster then this involves seasonal swaps like AKL and soon CDG and taking 2 A380 out at a time. Let's wait and seeLast edited by SQfanatic; 24 August 2017, 02:44 AM.

Agree.
If I remember correctly, CX change all the long-haul J-class and Y-class seats on >80 planes (A333 and B77W) in three year's time.

Originally posted by Jumbojet Lover View PostBoth seats were highly unpopular with passengers, thus the haste. SQ's 2006 seats, while more than 10 years old at this point, are still relatively competitive and comfortable.
The process of upgrading B772/B773 is also terribly slow. They could have use the 2006 seats got off from B77W once a B77W got retrofitted.
