We will see what config SWB comes back in. If it flies SQ12/11 or SQ8/7, it will be a 77WR otherwise if it consistently flies SQ2/1 then 77WN. Glad to know that someone knows the status of this.
It's sad that SWB is still not back in the skies yet. I respect the fact it takes a while to fix a plane that went thru a fire, but I was expecting it to come back as a 77WR probably performing one 16/15 round before it goes. The last time it did do SQ16/15 was in March, one of the Saturdays closer to when it went daily 77WR.
Let's wait and see. I will also safely assume that after SWB returns to service (most likely refitted), they will continue resuming refitting 77W. It won't surprise me if SWB also either has the new OnAir Wifi system like SWA or gets the Panasonic-Ku Wifi hump on top of the 2nd door like SWU-SNC (T-Mobile Wifi).

I think when SQ stated it was holding on to its old 772s longer in order to assist with refitting the 77W fleet, this may have been only partly true but also a red herring to their competitors. With all these new flights, their total fleet tally is going to have to climb. SYD/CGK, CBR/WLG, DUS, direct MAN, extra daily US flight and now TLV. Only GRU deleted. I get the feeling this isn't the end of that list either.

I think you are spot on. The 777-200ERs are going to be around a while and will help with more new routes / cover for the return of the A330s (eg Brisbane shifting so that SQ have a flat bed to compete with the new Qantas hard product).
At a guess I think the 200s will start to depart. Mostly to NokScoot who are reported to be looking at another 7 such aircraft over the next two years.

They would need to get a move on. Used aircraft in Thailand need to be under 14 year old. Most of the 772 fleet is approaching that age and some past it.

You're right about that. The only potential transfers to NokScoot that I can see are SQM and SQN which are a little older than 12 years. SQL and SRO-Q are closer to their 13th birthday than 14th, but they'd need to be acting fast. The rest of the SQ* and SR* series are either almost or slightly older than 14.
The SV* series is a complete no-go. SVM & SVN are close to 14, leading up to the fleet's oldest craft, SVB which is 15 years and 3 months.
The only two viable destinations for the 772s are the deal spoken of a while ago where DL were interested in about 11 of them, but no details on which 11 and when. Alternatively they fly a one-way journey to VCV or the like...

What actually happened with that? The story just seemed to disappear!
