- 9V-SVG and 9V-SVH has left the fleet, although the former is a refitted 772ER, bringing the total count for the 772ERs to 9.
- 9V-SWP has been refitted to a 4 class cabin with PY, increasing the number of 77WRs to 9.
UPCOMING CHANGES
- 9V-STN will be the next to leave the fleet, according to FleetIntel. It will be available for lease in MAY16.
- 9V-SMB, SQ's second A359, is expected to be delivered in APR16.
- Either 9V-SWF or 9V-SWQ is likely to be the next in line for the 77WR refit programme.
As always, thanks so much for the update of the SQ fleet, FSJZ. SWQ is doing SQ62/61 as of now. The fact that SWF is not flying could either be a refit, or doing a mechanical check (Because of what happened to SQ218 sometime back), or in some cases, both. SWF is the aircraft that doesn't have Wifi according to the Wifi thread. Sounds like they're likely to leave it without Wifi, but it's slowly hinting at me they could also install the newest OnAir GX Aviation System, which the article states will start from the 2nd half of the year (Supposed to be after June/July, I think).
Now this is the point I'm starting to think they're just taking random regs out of service after each refit during the 2nd quarter of the year instead of going alphabetically like they have for SWJ-P.
As for the 3rd A359, when will they get that delivered? Hope they will have at least 2 frames to perform AMS by May.
I may well be wrong, but I don't believe SVG has left the fleet. It is likely to be under heavy maintenance of some form...
I hope so too. Sad to see a refitted aircraft leave rather than 9V-SVF. IIRC, I saw 9V-SVG parked at the 400 parking bay next to T1 when I was on CX715 on 18 March.
Understand that 9V-STL is being withdrawn from the fleet.
Last flight was SQ981|13MAR (BKK-SIN).
Sounds like SQ renewed the leases only on the first 8 A330s (STA-STH). The other planes are being returned between between 5 to 6 years after they entered the fleet. STL was delivered 30 April 10, STN 21 May 2010, STO 25 June 2010, STQ 17 Sep 10 and STR 8 Oct 10. SQ mentioned only 4 leases were expiring in the fiscal year starting 1 April 2016, so 1 of the 5 must have been renewed (2 if you factor in STM which has been withdrawn, but the lease expires only 16 April 16).
So by the end of the year, SQ might be operating only 25 A330s.

SWF is back in the air, so not likely to have been refitted. SKB and SKC should be the next ones coming out with the PEY config.

Certainly looks that way. I think the annual report said 4 A330s returning in 2016-17 but that was probably just a point in time announcement. The report was out around June and so the decision would only have been made to return 9v-STL - STO.
Correct me if I am wrong but I think the usual arrangement is to only provide 1 years notice that an aircraft lease is not being renewed. As STQ and STR were delivered in Sept and Oct of 2010, SQ would not have had to made a decision on them at the time of the last annual report. Even thought the intention might have been to return them, it was not a final decision so would not have been reported.
