And a big boo to those who were on the last flight and are still keeping quiet about it!

      Spill the beans!
I was on the last flight from EWR to SIN - got a nice certificate but no email offer like this yet

      • travelguy2500: Care to indulge us with more details about the last flight?

        Photo of cert perhaps?

Did you redeem that last flight or was it a revenue ticket? Or have your purchased such a flight between SIN-USA ever? I got that e-mail a few days ago now

        • I got this offer, but did not fly on the last flight.

I however did fly JFK - FRA - SIN last Wed, i.e. Thanksgiving eve. Load was light in Business class, i.e. around 35% full.

Definitely do not like flying out of JFK. Much less civilised than EWR, and the crappy 4 hours of sleep before I wake up to land in FRA makes me really grouchy.

Virgin lounge in JFK not as impressive as I'd have expected.

          • I flew out of Changi on Thursday and on the climb out I saw two A340-500s at the hangar at the north end of the field. One was painted all white, one was still in SQ livery. I presume those would be the last of the beautiful ladies getting prepped for their return to Airbus. So long you beauts!

... Before being sent to South America. Really miss these birds... they are my favourite aircraft and SQ19/20/21/22 are still my most memorable flights.

              • I just happened to catch another sighting. Peering out the window yesterday as SQ 953 was flaring before touching down onto 02C at Changi, I caught a quick glimpse of one of the 345s lined up, all white, number three for takeoff on 02C. I think it was Golf Delta, but I can't be sure. Sad to see em go!

                • Yes, that was 9V-SGD going out for an air-test. It departed at 1056 and landed back in Changi at 1251.

Soon it will follow her sisterships to France.

Below is 9V-SGC departing Changi for France on 29NOV13.

Singapore Airlines - A great way to fly...

So the SIN-NRT SQ 12/11 flight will be hard to book on if i got a lower class J ticket ?

                        • Two commercial disasters in one photo - did anyone make a dime out of either the A340-500 or the 747SP?!

                          (both beautiful aircraft though)

                          • Is that at Mc Carren airport (LAS) with view towards the Mandalay Bay hotel? Looks like it.

Disagree on the 747SP. Looks rather midget-ish compared to the longer versions

                              • the 747SP looks a little "funny"

Short and stubby. like the 787-8.

Maybe she's and acquired taste. Haha.

But the 747 is a real beauty. There's a certain romance to its design and this is coming from someone who doesn't "appreciate" art.
