To me, A330 is one of the 2 best looking commercial aircrafts in the world ever. The other being B 747-400.

It is mine too when flying in Y. The A330's Y cabin feels more cozy than the 777 and less cramped than the 747. It is also quieter, apart from the high pitched sound from the engine upon take off but thankfully it ceases after take off.

i agree with keithMEL, the a 330 does give a warmer feeling than the 777 especially at the back of the plane. Noise wise its defientely up there as one of the quieter planes

I don't think so. I hate Airbus. Their A350 is just copying B787. Just look at the wings.

I'm more into the inflight comfort aspect of planes rather than what the planes look like or the technical details.

Agreed, which is why I am not looking forward to the A330s. The interior of the A330 is identical in shape and size to the original A300 and A310, and is significantly narrower than the B777s. There's a lot less interior space, and the cabin ceiling feels extremely low. If I wanted to fly narrow, cramped aircraft between KL and Singapore, I would go on MAS.

I was disappointed when SIA chose this path -- their recent Airbus purchases have all turned out to be disappointments (A343, A345, not to mention the A380 delay debacle). Overpromise and underdeliver seems to be the motto in Toulouse these days.

That flight is 30 minutes max. Life must be good of this sort of thing worries you.

                    Yes, agreed.

But the A333s will replace the 772s on most/all of the regional routes (MNL, CGK, BKK, HKG, etc.), so it's not just the puddle-jump to KL that the change will affect.

                      I agree. I prefer a 777 to a 330 in Y anyday.

well the A330s are supposed to be supplement till the A350 comes. but now that the A350 plan has been scrapped for the totally new A350XWB SQ has not shown signs of firming up their orders for the A350XWB and i do hope they do.

and the A350XWB is quite different from the B787. yes airbus came up with the A350XWB to rival the B787. XWB means xtra wide body hence the body of the aircraft ie fuselage would be slightly bigger then say the 787 thus allows for more seating abreast.

but then again SQ might just use the A330s for awhile then dump them like what they did to their A340-300s leasing it to CX.

I'm looking forward to the EIS of the A330s because SQ will surely not install the current regional F/C seats. The lack of AVOD and inseat power leaves the current F/C seats below par. I'd rather fly in the new Y seats (admittedly, I've never flown Y on SQ).

I am sure some of the regional F/C seats do have AVOD. I remember flying a few of them. The ones with bigger size monitors are all AVOD-able.
