                            I am actually very impressed with EVA Air's Royal Laurel Class. The seats can use some improvement in terms of storage space, but they are pretty comfortable. The service is good, but I rate it slightly below China Airlines, as CI F/As are more personable and warm. The food is actually excellent, compared to the major downgrades of quality of food on AA and CX these days in business class. The main meal was served course by course, with no tray. The Rimowa amenity kit, pajamas, and Fiji branded bottled waters were cool. The only thing that I was not happy was the lack of a real mid-flight snack on TPE to West Coast flights.

                            The champagne was already changed when I flew last October. The La Grande Dame is actually not bad, and it is also a $100+ bottle. It is already league ahead of other competitions, but most TW passengers really don't drink at all, or much.

                            Given their pricing ex-Asia, I don't mind flying it again. At least BR Royal Laurel has already surpassed Cathay Pacific's transpacific business class service, especially if you get a bad crew ex-HKG or US-based crews.
