I found this photo (not taken by me) and I thought it would be nice to share it here with my fellow SQTalkers. Notice that SQ is not featured because they joined *A in 2000 and the photo was taken in 1998. Just imagine how long the aircraft needs to be to incorporate all the airline liveries today!

Its real. There were quite a number painted that way. The 1st livery belongs to the airline itself and the other liveries followed:

IIRC, the aircraft on the OP's link has been retired in the early stages of the 00 decade, long before Varig no longer was part of *A family. And that livery was re-painted back into the standard colours before the a/c was retired.
