  • Mel -NRT in Y- October 31st. part 2.

    Start part 2....

Heres a customary shot for SQ talk: im 191cm tall or 6'3... but all in all was very comfortable and the leg room was fine... I do love the storage bin next to the seat as it means the seat in front has some extra leg room down the side

After about an hr or 2 we also got some food and ice cream

Theres some random chicken thing, a salmon salad a roll etc etc... it was ok, it served a purpose, it wasnt the best meal Ive eaten, wasnt the worst you get the idea...
Heres a shot somwhere over the middle of Australia

Soon after that I tried to sleep and failed and tried out krisflyer entertainment which kept me entertained until we landed in Singapore... ohhh we did circle the airport once before we landed.. dont know why, maybe we missed our slot and had to delay....

We landed in Singapore and I had a couple hrs to kill before my flight to Tokyo!
I dont have many pics from that flight as the lack of sleep and mental and physical exhaustion caught up with me and I felt pretty awful for the entire add to that it was a pretty turbulent flight, probably the worst and most consistent turbulence ive ever had on a plane.. not that I was scared by any means but it was just really annoying when i added it to how I felt lol...
I only have a couple cool pics from the flight.. It was a very cloudy flight and when the map said we were in Japan I was looking to get my first ever glimpse but couldnt see anything... BUT at one point I looked out the window and what appeared before my eyes but......

Wow I was amazed... the first thing I ever seen in Japan was Fuji-San !! It was a very cool moment... soon the captain told the plane the same and the excitement was very high, among travel nerds and Japanese alike
I spent the next 10 mins or so engrossed and taking pictures !

Soon enough we landed in Tokyo (well Narita) and after a speedy ride through immigration and customs I was in Japan.... more to come soon on Tokyo, Shinkansen, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Osaka, Shimonoseki and Kokura...
If you have any questions just ask away and ill try to answer

Great to see a TR to Japan, my favorite destination.

          I'm 6 foot.

I find the leg rest in Y ( on 77W ) gets in my way when I try to stretch my legs.

They hit my shin and I wish they weren't there.

I have to sit with legs spread around it.

Maybe it's better on the A380..

            Tokyo....

Ok well I arrived in Tokyo and was met by my partner whom I hadnt seen for 7 months and a lovely hug was enjoyed by both parties lol (which I missed a lot)

We spent the next couple of days travelling around Tokyo and here are some of the sites...
MY first pic taken in Japan at Asakusa Sensouji - A temple just near the hotel... I was tired, Id had 5 hrs sleep in 2 days lol

            Asakusa by night...

Tokyo is big, big big city....

Hachiko - The dog at Shibuya station who waited for his deceased master to come home for 10 years... kinda sad story

Just Harajuku on a sunday afternoon lol

I became on of the 3.7 million people to use Shinjuku station in one day, wow

            The famous Shibuya crossing !

On a clear day you cant see forever but you san see Fuji-San... especially from the top of the Tokyo government building...

            Tanuki !!!

I couldnt go to Tokyo and not go here !!!!

Nice views of Fuji, both from in the air and up the tower. In dozens of visits to Tokyo I've rarely encountered such clear skies.

                Ooh! another Hayao Miyazaki fan!

I adore his work... ok, some of it's bizarre and not to everyone's taste - but still.

My favourites are probably Spirited away, my neighbour totoro and Ponyo on the cliff by the sea
