I believe its something to do with Japan's regulations on electronic devices. Both ANA and JL timetables mention this.

The last time I took ANA, they were very strict about taking photos when the plane is on the ground and can only take 5 minutes after the seat belt sign is off.

    Thank you,
    YC
Never had a problem on NH.

Wanted to take pictures but traveling light this trip.

No laptop or camera. Only iPhone.

Had to be switched off for flight. Doh!!

from my experience from this flight: NOP
I managed to take picture while the plane still taxiing or climbing.... no problem with the crew...
Taxiing, taking off, climbing, cruising, decending, even landing, no problem at all....
    Just be discreet...

For me, I like NH Club ANA seat a little bit more than SQ SpaceBed....
once again, this is only my preference....
I have just finished my first NRT-JFK-NRT on NH J class.

Agree with you NH Club seat is better than SQ SpaceBed.

I like in particular the 3 buttons they provide for Seat, Lounge or Sleep.

    Thanks for sharing Dent@SUB.

I look forward to my own NH 77W ride in about a month's time and this makes me even more eager.
