  • Video: BA Business Class A380, LHR-HKG

My latest video trip report is available to view at http://youtu.be/iEGoBw3ceD8 . It covers Terminal 5, departure from London, onboard service including food and drink, and arrival into Hong Kong. I sat in 53K, a rear facing Club World seat at the back of the first upper deck cabin.

    Some points about the trip

    - I was disappointed with the 'offer' in the F Lounge. The cheeseboard is a shadow of its former self, and the wine selection (red) was exclusively New World. The wifi remains unusable
    - boarding from C gates was efficient through three jet bridges attached to M1L, M2L and U1L
    - 53K has plenty of space at seat level. The side bins (3 for this seat) will accept a 13" laptop bag. The overhead bins however are very small, and if you have a "cabin-size" rollaboard/trolley then they will need to go in the centre bins. This can be an issue on busy flights if you don't board early
    - The seat is standard CW, still feels a bit flimsy in places
    - The IFE is excellent - full seasons of box sets such as House of Cards and Wolf of Wall Street in its unedited glory
    - The aircraft is extremely quiet, and as a result when sitting in this seat unless you want to hear (and be woken by) every noise from the galley then I suggest you bring some noise-cancelling headphones
    - Food was very good. I asked for my steak to be done as rare as possible and the crew delivered
    - Service was also very good, relaxed and friendly but efficient. What BA should be

Overall, I think A380 CW on a sector like this is an incremental change to the existing product. It is better, but only just.

Look forward to reading your comments
