I'm not that much of a beach holiday person either...that said, I would put the Maldives in a different category from the beach resorts in other parts of Asia e.g. Bali, Phuket, Langkawi...in my mind, at least, these other places have all been totally eclipsed...

Another beautiful TR yflyer! Some excellent photos and the Conrad seems like an oasis. It's nice to see such a polished resort isn't crowded.

Thanks...it is such a beautiful place, it is very easy to take good photos...point your camera in any random direction and press the shutter, odds are the picture will be great...

Thanks, calvinoeh! I just read that Maamigili airport only opened at the end of 2011, so I believe the Conrad has only recently started offering guests this option i.e. late night transfer via domestic airline to Maamigili, then 30 minute speedboat ride to Rangali Island.

That said, the seaplane transfer during the day is definitely quicker, and much more scenic!
