Yes, it's been a while since I experience passengers applauding on board a plane. The last time was actually a case of passengers using their tray table tops as percussion instruments (they were drumming!) on a Royal Air Maroc flight leaving Essaouira right after the Gnaoua Festival (where there had been a lot of drumming )

I didn't know Kingsford-Smith Airport had a message board!
