Not all of them. Those in the higher positions in regional offices are allowed to fly in J, subject to space available on the day. Someone I know from the UK was sat with me in Raffles a few weeks back.

AO (Admin Officers) get to fly in J based on availability, I think.

Yupe, my good friend who joined SIA as an AO in 1998 as a fresh graduate said he flew F a couple of times. Nevertheless, he only stayed for about 1 year, as the salary was terrible (getting about S$2.3K/month afteryear). I guess to him, getting a job with better pay (and flying Y) is better than a job that flies F but crap pay !!

i fly on F only if my father is with me. If i go overseas with my mom , it would be J . If it's with my siblings or cousins , it would be Y.

Btw , do you think SQ will fly a 773ER on a flight to london?

Definitely not. LHR will stay with 744's and will progressively be replaced by A380's as they arrive, starting from 14 February next year. They need every seat they can get on LHR flights.

Out of curiosity, care to explain the difference in class type, depending on whether you travel with father, mother or siblings ? It appears quite extreme, from F to Y.
