I know at least a couple of SQT regulars who will allocate their entertainment budget towards watching the film ... probably several times!

Check out the trailers! I can't wait.

Also, a roving Mamma Mia troupe is going to make a stop in KUL at the end of the year. Hurraaaaaaaaah!

We just had the Melbourne premiere for Mamma Mia! 3 days ago. Melbourne Central was packed and pedestrian traffic to the station went into chaos. I didn't managed to see the stars, as I got stuck in the pedestrian traffic jam. Apparently all the stars were there, including Colin Firth and Meryl Streep.

The CD Soundtracks was on sale. Tomorrow is the first show here in Vancouver. After listening to the CD, I am not so sure whether I like the songs. One of my fave songs The Winner Takes It All, after listening three times, it's not as good as what other Donna's performances at the stage in London or the Canadian cast.

As much as I've enjoyed the theatre performances, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the movie version, I don't see myself buying the soundtrack since IMO nobody performs ABBA as well as ABBA.

Agreed, although one particular tribute band came mighty close to the real thing: the cheesily named Bjorn Again

One of the male ex members of ABBA owns and operate a boutique hotel in Stockholm, at Mariatorget. Name of it is Hotel Rival, quite a nice place to stay too...... it about a 5 minutes walk from the old city...... the window will look out to a park... convenince store right beside it. will probably be staying there end August.

Just had a pleasure of listening to Meryl Streep's rendition of "The Winner Takes It All." I think she did an admirable job showing great vocal range while adding her own dramatic interpretation. But then I have never been to the any stage performance of "Mamma Mia" despite being a huge fan of ABBA for as long as I can remember.
Me think the movie should be enjoyable .

Was in the theater yesterday. The sound-system was great. The sequence is not exactly the same as the stage version.

Anyone knows the exact location where the movie was shot? Just love the blue sea ...

The island of Skopelos - by ferry from Thessaloniki (SKG - BA fly there! ) in summer; no airport

The village of Damouchari in the Pelion area on the Greek mainland - fly to either ATH or SKG and then take the train or drive

The island of Skiathos - by ferry from SKG or fly OA from ATH to its airport (SKI)

Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England - fly to LHR (it has quite good international connections I think so it should be easy! ) and by car or train from there
