Emirates press releases now seem to begin with this... (new addition in bold):

Emirates, a global connector of people and places, and Skytrax Airline of the Year 2013 is adding passenger and cargo capacity in San Francisco and Houston on December 1st and 3rd respectively when it switches from operating the routes with a Boeing 777-300ER to its iconic double-decker Airbus A380.
We take the Skytrax awards seriously because they are not decided by a panel of experts or by how much advertising money is paid, but by the votes of the travelling public – almost 19 million of them for the 2014 World Airline Awards. Passengers from around the world cast their votes and, based on a wide range of criteria, they decided that our airline is the best. That really is something special!
A middle seat in that business class, introduced in 2016 no less.
The seats are so tightly packed together, the large IFE screens are practically side-by-side. Can't imagine not being distracted by what your neighbour is watching.
With all the faux wood and "sports car inspired" leather seats, EK's J offering is form over function. But I bet they will still fill the seats, thanks to corporate bean-counting policy that picks cheapest options.
Having said that, I guess it's a first world problem aka be thankful you're not flying Y...
