  • New compensation laws to bring Australia in line with Montreal Convention

    http://www.smh.com.au/news/travel/fl...602581463.html

FOREIGN airlines will have to pay up to $8000 a person for delayed flights, $1800 for lost luggage and $180,000 compensation for injury or death in a plane crash under new laws proposed by the Rudd Government.

      Montreal Convention?

We don't even have that kind of compensation in Canada!

But I thought Canada has ratified the Montreal Convention?

Only applies to international travel though.
