  • San-To-Ka Ramen in Singapore

I was told that the famous ramen from Tokyo has opened a branch in Singapore, supposedly in Clarke Quay.
I have tried to look for it online but no luck so far. Does anyone know where it is? Has anyone tried? Thanks in advance.

The same friend also told me to try Melbourne Crab Beehoon at Ang Mo Kio 6285-6762.

I came accross this one but thought it's not the one as it has slightly different spelling.
So I guess this is it?
      Have you tried?

I don't know about that one, but I can certainly vouch for a tiny ramen shop - owned and run by the son of a Hokkaido ramen-restauranteur family - located just behind Boat Quay (I don't know it by name, only how to find it).

StarG let me know when you're next around and I will point you in the right direction.

          Yep, the company's website:

          http://www.santouka.co.jp/

has the same Japanese Kanji characters as (e.g.)

          http://elmomonster.blogspot.com/2005...osta-mesa.html

I haven't tried but will do if you tell me it's good.

That would be Mellben Crab, not Melbourne Crab... their Crab Beehoon IS divine. Definitely hit the spot for me!

Ah, thanks for the corrections & the links jhm & Kyo.
milehighj, I was also told about the Boat Quay one but everyone seems to not remember the name of the place! A real 'no signboard' ramen perhaps.
My friend recommended these two places for ramen in Singapore.

Actually I just realised that I have tried the ramen outlet at Central, and IMHO I definitely think the Boat Quay "no signboard" place is better.

There is also a pretty decent ramen outlet on the first floor of the Gallery Hotel.

The top ramen place in Singapore, in my opinion, can be found at Cuppage Plaza (one of the oldest shopping centres) in Orchard Rd. Near to Le Meridien.

                  Ken's is the name.

Their stuff is good, expect Tokyo prices.

Was at Santouka earlier this week, and I actually like it much better than Baikohken (although it is also good).
I am having ramen withdrawal already...

Is Baikohken the "no signboard" place at Boat Quay which milehighj was referring to ?

Mmmm, less than 3 weeks and potentially lots of ramen/noodles!

Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka, e.g. Hakata ramen in Fukuoka
                          Singapore
Hong Kong (only in the airport though)
                          Taipei

And - last but not least - the famous "Singapore" noodles when I get back to Old Blighty.

Santouka is one of my favorite stops just before boarding flights out of LAX (5 minutes outside the airport).

Since the Ramen (among other things ) Guru says Santouka is better, I guess I will have to re-try that one...
