Those 'Naked' Body Scanners...

Has anyone experienced those body scanners...?

I went through one in Amsterdam last year and was so physically affected (dizziness, felt like vomitting, smells 'burning') by it, that I now opt for the body pat down whenever I can. I have read several reports that they are not as 'safe' as they (TSA, airport people) make out to be..

I know many of my naturopathic doctor friends stay away from them. A few of them carry radiation tablets with them just in case. I tend to agree with them..

If you get ill (dizzy) just walking through the TV department at Best in Singapore.. you will get affected by the body scanners !

I went through quite a few at those US airports and also at BKK..... felt nothing, was only thinking who at the other end is looking at me naked body..... and if its a female inspector, wonder if she will laugh or gasp......

Been through quite a few. Tend to suck my tummy in when i go through , you know, the least you can do is put on a good show

Don`t worry about trying to look good, no one looks good on screen for one of those body scanners... Not even lovely SQflyergirl with tummy suck in can look good, trust me! (If you ever get the chance have a look and you will see what I mean. )

Gone thru many in the US. No problems. Tried posing seductively but I may have imagined hearing much laughter somewhere in the airport.

Always pass through these at AMS - feel nothing. I think it's all in your head.

I used to go through one once or twice a week. Never felt any adverse effect from one.

Did find out one weakness of them - They can not see through damp clothes. So if you build up a sweat then it will have no idea what is below your clothes.

Surely not! People have all sorts of allergies. Allergies to nuts, dust, pollen, vertigo, latex, gluten, etc... Cannot be helped. GB might just be more susceptible to that particular frequency of electromagnetic waves that the scanner works on compared to the general public. (How does it work anyway?)

CarbonMan has a good point about claustrophobia though. I heard of many people who cannot use the MRI scanner because of that.

Telling someone that the condition is 'all in the head' is just plain intolerant.

Anywhere where there is a higher than normal dose of radiation. I get dizzy with a feeling of a burning sensation into my head when I talk longer than 5 mins on a mobile phone. Let's just say that I'm ultra sensitive and in the work that I do , I think it's normal for me an my collegues.

Guy with you being ultra sensitive and the high levels of radiation you get from flying + the high magnetic fields going through scanners. I think you should try and find a job which keeps you away from planes and airport scanner as much as possible, for you own health. Your health is the most imporant thing in life apart from family.
