  • no redemption for suites booking

unfrickinbelievable.... they won't even allow unrestricted F award tickets for the a380. what good are the KF miles if they don't let you use them on something meaningful?

Indeed. And looking at the TOF, there doesn't seem to be J reward availability too but I could be totally wrong.

it's one thing when there is no availability... it's quite another when they completely bar it altogether.

I think they're going to keep the new Suites off limits at least until the other A380s come on line. And even then, I'm going to bet they'll raise the redemption rates (you know, "beyond Unrestricted for beyond First") while, of course, continuing to keep the seats out of the reach of airline partners' frequent flyers.

This notice is now on the website:

          Flight Awards

Only unrestricted awards are available for redemption of flights in First and Business Class on the B777-300ER.
Only unrestricted awards are available for redemption of flights in Business Class on the A380.
No redemption is available for the Singapore Airlines Suites.

            Bummer!

The names are misleading. The unrestricted awards book into A/D, not F/C, and has restricted inventories. Suites in A380 books into R anyway.

Uhm..... the purple sarong is becoming really attractive.
OK, the service is lower but ground facilities (lounge, escorting, ...) are "miles" ahead than SQ.

I want to thank SQ for their great marketing strategy which is pushing me towards other carrier i never thought to consider
              mmm... does it exist TGTalk?

If SQ is too expensive, the other way to fly is Qatar Airways

                    Are you guys kidding?

If award tickets were available for the suites, they wouldn't have any to sell to revenue passengers. Wait about six months.

Zvez... sincerely, i can't see SQ playing the role of the match-girl.... it doesn't fit to SQ ...
Nonetheless, 2 seats of 12 mean 10 revenue tickets.... so where is the problem.
My thought is that their covetousness is second only to their avarice.

oh.... BTW, with the 773ER we waited for almost 1 year and nothing changed. So, why - in the name of God - should something happen in the next six months?

I think it would not be surprising to see that when the majority of B744s leave the fleet and the fleet is mainly comprised of B77Ws and A388s that award availability will return to mid-2000 standards (e.g.: per 'normal').

                            I bet on 2010.

A majority of 747-400s have already left the fleet. 19 of 42 remain.

I bet on 2008 for suites to become available only for unrestricted awards and for other seats to return to normal availability. In 2008, SQ will take delivery of nine 777-300ERs and five WhaleJets. That will do wonders for the current capacity shortfall caused by the WhaleJet delays.
